What is the difference between my wallet balance and my card balance?

It is normal for your wallet balance and your card balance to be different.

In the KeeCash app you need to tell apart:

• the wallet;
• the card.

These are two different balances.

1. The wallet balance

The wallet is the balance available in your KeeCash wallet.
It is the balance you see at the top of the dashboard, in the Your KeeCash wallet section.

What is the wallet for?

The wallet lets you:

• receive deposits;
• receive transfers from other KeeCash users;
• keep your funds in your KeeCash account;
• then top up your card when needed.

2. The card balance

The card balance is the money available directly on your card.
It is the balance used when you pay online with your card.
This balance is shown directly on your card.

3. Why the two balances can differ

At KeeCash, a deposit does not always land in the same place.

Depending on the type of operation:

• some deposits arrive on the wallet first;
• others top up the card directly.

That is why you can:

• have money on the wallet but not on the card;
• or have a card balance that differs from your wallet balance.

4. How to top up the wallet

If you want to make a deposit into your wallet, tap Deposit from the dashboard.

You will then be taken to the deposit screen to choose which wallet you want to deposit into.

5. How to top up the card

If you want to add money directly to your card, tap Top up in the card section.

You will then reach the Card top-up screen, where you can choose how to fund your card:

• from your KeeCash wallet;
• or from an external wallet, depending on the options available.

6. A simple example

Case 1 - Deposit into the wallet

You tap Deposit.
The money arrives in your wallet.
Result:

• the wallet balance goes up;
• the card balance does not change automatically.

Case 2 - Card top-up

You tap Top up.
The money is added to your card.
Result:

• the card balance goes up;
• the wallet does not necessarily change, depending on the method chosen.

7. Why an online payment can fail even though I have money on KeeCash

You can have money on your wallet, but not enough on your card.
In that case a card payment can be declined.
Before paying, always check whether the money is:

• on your wallet;
• or directly on your card.
